Dyslexia

More Than Just Letter Reversals

Gifts and Talents

The thinking style that causes dyslexia is a gift, a natural ability, a talent. Consider some of the famous dyslexics who excelled because of their dyslexia. Not everyone with dyslexia will become famous or be a genius but it is good to know that their mind works in the same way.

People with dyslexia don't all develop the same talents but they do share these very positive and useful gifts:

They have vivid imaginations and can experience thought as reality.

They are more curious about how things work.

They are highly intuitive and insightful.

They just know things without conscious understanding of how or why.

They are highly aware of their environment, noticing everything.

They can think and perceive multi-dimensionally (using all the senses).

They think mainly in pictures instead of words.

They can utilize the brain's ability to create and alter perceptions (the key ability).

Is it any wonder that individuals with Dyslexia can be highly successful in:

The words of language, as they are written or spoken, do not seem to play any role in my mechanism of thought. The physical entities, which seem to serve as elements in thought, are certain signs and more or less clear images.
